Wadi Rum is a village in the south of Jordan. It's possible to clim in many differents places. No needs to carry crampons, ice axe however you should have very good mountaineering and climbing skills. There is short routes in which you can easily rappel down or very long routes with engaged descent mostly natural climbing. A full rack and half is required and double from .3 to 3, very good light approach shoes with vibram for the approach, bedouin routes and descent. You are ready for Wadi Rum. The classic Pilar of Wisdom is an easy fabulous route that you should have done. On step of 6b or A0. The descent is a Hammad's route it's not so easy to find the route when you don't know the place. Pilar of Wisdom The beauty is mostly crack climbing. From the top of the route you can reach the top of Jebel um Ishrin. It's good to have Camalot 5 at the start of the belay of the last pitch. The approach and the descent make a circle in a beautiful landscape. Alan and his Perverse Frog is quite interesting climb as well. The Beauty Flight of fancy Inforno and Flight of fancy are both classic routes at 20 from Wadi Rum in the Jebel Rum. The second one is slightly more difficult with a difficult step at the start of the belay. Inferno You should absolutly visit for Barrah Canyon for few days. You'll enjoy the evening by the fireside in the desert. Many interesting routes and grade are less severe. Barrah Canyon: Merlin's Wand, The Star of Abu Judaidah Lionheart is a more difficult route despite it's not frightening Precht climbing. The difficulty ins sustained but you can protect yourself well enough. However the grade is severe. Lionheart The bedouin routes are a very interesting activity. Despite the low level of difficulty like Al Thalamy'a, this one is quite engaged without to be ropped and anyway it's not so easy to protect in this sandy rock. It's impossible to climb everything in two weeks. Many trips is required to around the Wadi Rum. You should plan this rock trip in your planning.
